Komodo National Park Nominated for New Seven Wonders of the World

TEMPO Interactive, Mataram: The Komodo National Park in East Nusa Tenggara has been nominated as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

According to the Promotions Director of the Culture and Tourism Department, Resty Reko Astuti, the Komodo National Park is unique as it is a forest-based habitat for the Komodo, an animal in danger of extinction, and a forest park.

“We will try our best so the park will be included as one of the new seven wonders,” he said on Thursday (23/7).

The park's heavy competitors are a national park in the Philippine and a waterfall in Brazil.

It is scheduled that in few days, a team from The New Seven Wonders will come to Indonesia from Portugal to survey the park.

The Komodo population on the 33,000-hectare Komodo island is 1,300. While the number of Komodo on Rinca Island is 1,200.

Hmmmm….. that was a good news that we should support. As we know that Borobudur temple had not become the 1 of 7 wonder in the world since several years ago. So the recommendation of Komodo National Park to be included as the 1 of 7 wonder in the world may become the achievement for Indonesia itself, ‘cause we know that our country has a beautiful view with the friendliness people in it..So it is our duty to support our country in order The Komodo National Park will be included to the seven wonder in the world by keep our richment well and we hope the people from aboard will be more interested to visit Indonesia, although there were 2 bombs explosive in Jakarta at last Jule 17^th 2009.
